A forum exploring ways that technology can help grow Louisiana businesses will be held from 10 a.m. to noon July 23 in the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry Conference Center, 3113 Valley Creek Drive, Baton Rouge.
The event is an open meeting of the Technology Advocacy and Small Business Council and is being sponsored by LABI.
It will feature technology experts from the Louisiana Department of Economic Development; LSU Office of Intellectual Property, Commercialization & Development; Louisiana Emerging Technology Center; LSU System Research and Technology Foundation; Louisiana Technology Park; New Orleans Bio Innovation Center; Louisiana Cancer Research Center; and The Idea Village.
LED Assistant Secretary Quentin Messer Jr. and LED Director of Special Projects Dr. Jenée Slocum will present “State of Innovation in Louisiana,” a discussion about emerging growth sectors and project announcements as well as higher education and economic development.
A panel discussion will focus on research and entrepreneurship, commercializing and funding technology businesses, fostering high-tech startups to market and the bioscience industry.
Participants will also be able to speak with representatives from Louisiana’s technology community and members of the Innovation Council on LED’s strategy to promote technology, research and development, commercialization and entrepreneurship in Louisiana.
