Louisiana Citizens Property Insurance Corp. policyholders who sued because the insurer took too long to begin processing their 2005 hurricane claims received another favorable ruling toward collecting a $104 million judgment.

The state 1st Circuit Court of Appeal ruled Friday that Citizens can’t stop its bank from turning over the money to pay the judgment.

The court also declined Citizens’ request to reconsider that ruling late Friday afternoon. Citizens Chief Executive Officer Richard Robertson said the state-backed insurer of last resort will ask the state Supreme Court to overturn the 1st Circuit’s ruling.
