A job fair is being held Thursday-Saturday at the St. James Parish Courthouse at 5800 La. 44 for Millennium Galvanizing that will have a facility in Convent.
Millennium Galvanizing, a Crest Industries company, furnishes galvanized protective coatings for utility poles and equipment in the electric utility and petrochemical industries.
The job fair is being supported by the state’s FastStart workforce training program.
Applicants must pre-register online through the Crest Industries website at www.crestoperations.com.
Interview sessions will be in the second-floor parish council chamber at 7 a.m., noon and 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and at 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Interview sessions will provide details about Crest Industries, Millennium Galvanizing and the galvanizing process, along with staffing plans for the facility. Interviews will then be held in order of registration.
Millennium Galvanizing facility plans to hire 65 employees the facility’s January 2016 start. Positions include quality assurance/quality control, forklift operators, pickle crane operators, galvanizing bow-ups, kettle lead men, kettle crane operators, sandblasters, painters, Class A commercial drivers, maintenance mechanics and general laborers.
