Two final meetings are being held next week for the public to weigh in on the Future BR land use and development plan before it is presented to the Planning Commission and Metropolitan Council.?

The Planning Commission and national consultant John Fregonese, of Fregonese Associates, will conduct open houses Monday at the BREC Headquarters at 6201 Florida Blvd. and Tuesday at St. George Catholic Church at 7808 St. George Drive. Both meetings are from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Fregonese will present the highlights of the plan, lead discussion and answer questions.? Those attending can review large-scale maps and provide written comments.?The plan may also be reviewed and comments submitted online at http://www.futurebr.com.?A printed copy of the 460-page plan is available at each East Baton Rouge Parish Library for public review.

The plan and public comments will be presented to the Planning Commission on Aug. 22 before going to the Metro Council for adoption.
