A Walk-On’s Bistreaux & Bar is set to open in Brusly in the second half of 2018.

The 8,000-square-foot restaurant will be built next to Cottonport Bank near the intersection of La. 1 and West St. Francis Street, said Chris Reeves, a member of the Bultra Restaurant Group, which signed a franchise agreement with Walk-On’s last week.

Reeves, along with business partners Terry Hebert and Francois Boulanger, have developed shopping centers in Brusly. The Walk-On’s will be part of a development that also will include a physical therapist's office and a workout center.

Reeves said he expects to draw diners from Port Allen, Plaquemine, Addis and White Castle, who don’t want to deal with bridge traffic.

Walk-On's currently has 15 restaurants and is set to open a location in Broussard on Monday and Alexandria before the end of the year. A Prairieville restaurant at 14555 Airline Highway is scheduled to open in February or March. The company also will serve as the title sponsor for the Independence Bowl in Shreveport, which will be held Dec. 27.

The chain is on track to open 18 locations in 2018 and recently announced it had reached a deal with a franchisee to open 11 restaurants in Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina.
