Tin Roof Brewing Co. sold a 0.89-acre piece of property at Oklahoma Street and River Road to an arm of the Baton Rouge Area Foundation for $349,308.
An entity known as WC 613 Oklahoma LLC bought the land in a deal that was filed with the East Baton Rouge Clerk of Court’s Office on Thursday evening. The entity was acting under the direction of Community Foundation Realty.
BRAF is involved in the development of the Water Campus, a 33-acre site between downtown and LSU that will become a center for public and private research. The Water Campus is near the 613 Oklahoma site that Tin Roof owned.
Tin Roof bought the Oklahoma Street property in August 2013 for $115,000, a few months before state and local officials announced plans for the Water Campus. At the time, the owners of the brewery said the site could serve as the eventual new home for Tin Roof, but there were no immediate plans.
Tin Roof has been expanding its current location at 1624 Wyoming St., adding brewing capacity and more space to store cans of Turnrow Harvest Ale, Juke Joint IPA and Perfect Tin Amber Ale. The brewery will soon open a tap room so customers will be able to directly buy pints and growlers of beer.
