Brian Harris has sold its Chrysler Jeep franchise in Baton Rouge to Salsbury’s Dodge City.

Jeff Cope, a sales manager for Salsbury’s, said the franchise was purchased on Tuesday. All of the Chryslers and Jeeps have been moved to the Salsbury’s dealership at 9550 Airline Highway.

Salsbury’s website now lists the dealership as “Salsbury’s Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Baton Rouge.” That puts four of Chrysler’s main brands on sale at the dealership.

Officials at Brian Harris were unavailable to talk about the move Friday. A sign at the building at 11955 Airline Highway that had been home for Brian Harris Chrysler Jeep referred customers to Salsbury’s.

The adjoining Fiat of Baton Rouge and used car dealership, which are also under the Brian Harris umbrella, were open.

In October, Salsbury’s spent $3.5 million on a 12.2-acre tract of land on Airline Highway near its intersection with Barringer-Foreman Road as an investment for a future dealership. Officials with the dealership said at the time they had plans down the line to build on the site, but nothing was etched in stone.
