Arnetta C. Girardeau has been named assistant director for public services in the Oliver B. Spellman Law Library at the Southern University Law Center. She also is an adjunct instructor in legal research. Girardeau was a librarian with the Jacksonville Public Library in Florida.

Doug Place, chief financial officer for Dupre Logistics LLC in Lafayette, was elected chairman of the board of the Louisiana Motor Transport Association. Jess Heid has been named marketing manager at Cortana Mall. Heid was marketing coordinator with E Federal Credit Union in Baton Rouge.

Elizabeth Champion was promoted to director of compliance for the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System from corporate compliance officer at its Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center subsidiary in Lafayette. Monte Wilson joined Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center as chief operating officer. Wilson served as president/chief executive officer for Mercy’s Surgery LLC and vice president of clinical operations of St. Edward Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith, Ark.

John Fenner has been promoted to vice president, corporate general counsel and chief ethics and compliance officer in the legal and compliance departments at Turner Industries. He was general counsel.

The Renaissance Baton Rouge, a 256-room luxury hotel scheduled for a late-September opening on Bluebonnet Boulevard, has named Bryan Holladay as director of human resources; David Long as director of food and beverage; Aaron Chapin as director of revenue management; and Sheila Kerschenbaum as controller. Day was assistant director of human resources at the Sheraton Nashville Downtown in Tennessee. Long was director of food and beverage at the Crowne Plaza Hilton Head in South Carolina. Chapin was director of revenue management at the Sheraton Suites Tampa Bay in Florida. Kerschenbaum was controller of the Westin Coral Gables in Florida.

Joseph D. Raia has been named assistant director of news at WBRZ News 2 Louisiana. Raia was a media instructor at the University of South Alabama and spent nine years as news director at WPMI-TV in Mobile, Ala.

Arthur James Lathan, co-founder and executive director of the Gibsland Youth Community Resource Center, has been elected chairman of the board of the Louisiana Center for Health Equity. Rose Vernell Forrest was elected to the board from Baton Rouge. Forrest is a retired state health-care policy executive and former secretary of the Department of Health and Hospitals. She works part time as an independent health-care consultant.

Randy C. Young, of Baton Rouge, was elected international president of United Commercial Travelers. Young has been a member of UCT’s Baton Rouge Council 499 for 37 years.

Eduardo “Ed” Jimenez, director of business and economic expansion for Entergy Louisiana LLC and Entergy Gulf States Louisiana LLC, has been named to the advisory board of the LSU Louisiana Business and Technology Center.

John Owen, a rice farmer from Rayville and president of the Northeast Louisiana Rice Growers Association, was elected vice chairman of the USA Rice Producers’ Group.
