The owners of Blue Bayou/Dixie Landin’ have acquired a 12 acre tract of land northeast of the water park that they plan to turn into overflow parking.

Haynes Interests LLC acquired the land between the park and Perkins Road in two transactions with the Kleinpeter family that were filed with the East Baton Rouge Clerk of Court’s office Wednesday afternoon. The Kleinpeters sold the land for $20, plus other valuable considerations, which were not disclosed.

A spokeswoman for Blue Bayou/Dixie Landin’ said the land is undeveloped and “full of trees”, so it will take a little while until the land can be used for parking. The move also gives the water park and concert venue more frontage along Perkins.
