A building in the Jefferson Office Park has been sold for $1.6 million in a pair of deals that closed Wednesday.

The Whaley Law Firm and the Pittenger Law Firm bought the two-story, nearly 8,200-square-foot building at 6700 Jefferson Highway from Don Joffrion, who developed the office park.

Mathew Laborde, of Elfin Realty, who represented the seller, said the law firms plan to occupy the first floor of the building and lease out the second floor. Robert Pettit, of Waters & Pettit, represented the buyers.

Construction of the building was finished last week, Laborde said.

The first phase of Jefferson Office Park was sold or leased before construction was completed. In the second stage of the park, which will consist of 55,000 square feet, Laborde said a 15,000-square-foot building is under contract. Three more pad sites remain. Plans are to build an 8,300-square-foot, an 8,500-square-foot and an 11,000-square-foot building on the land, but Laborde said the sites could be combined for a larger building.
