Baton Rouge ranked No. 14 in Forbes’ list of “Engineering Capitals,” which measured the concentration of engineers in 85 metro areas.
The places with the highest concentration of engineers also are expected to have the greatest capacity for innovation.
“For the most part, regions with higher concentrations of engineers tend to do better, and seize the leadership of key industries,” according to Forbes.com.
Baton Rouge was listed among “The Energy Cities.” The home of LSU sends many of its engineering graduates into the Gulf of Mexico energy industry, the story says.
