Justin Champlin, chief deputy of the Ascension Parish Assessor's Office, has earned the professional designation of Assessment Administration Specialist from the International Association of Assessing Officers.
The designation recognizes professionalism and competency in administration of a variety of functions for property tax purposes.
The Greater Baton Rouge Association of Realtors has named Ginger Maulden, of Coldwell Banker One, Realtor of the Year for 2017; Suzanne Ruch, of Franklin American Mortgage, the Ben R. Downing Jr. Affiliate of the Year; Sara Ketchings, of CJ Brown Realtors, Rising Star of the Year; Karen Moore, of Keller Williams First Choice, Most Cooperative Realtor; and Adam Pitts, of KDK Capital Region Realty, the Charles H. Dillemuth Humanitarian of the Year.
The awards honor different qualities of members who have given back to the community, gone beyond the call of duty and exemplified other high principles of the Realtor name.

The University of Holy Cross announced that its neurodiagnostic technology program received accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.
The commission accredits educational programs that prepare health professionals in a variety of disciplinary areas. Programs are accredited when it’s determined they meet the educational standards and guidelines established by the profession. UHC’s NDT program accepted its first 10 students in May 2016, with students completing their clinical programs in May 2017.
The Louisiana Civil Service League announced its 2017 Charles E. Dunbar Jr. Career Service Award recipients for providing distinguished service. Winners from the area are Nannette Alford, of Bogalusa, human resources supervisor at the B.B. “Sixty” Rayburn Correctional Center in the Department of Public Safety and Corrections; Karrel Lane Ardoin, of Baton Rouge, deputy general counsel in the Department of Family Services; Roland J. Babin, of St. Martinville, engineer tech 7 in the Department of Transportation and Development; Kathy J. Baker, of Pride, human resources consultant specialist in the Baton Rouge information and testing office for State Civil Service; Eli Jackson, of Baker, master locksmith in LSU Residential Life; Dr. Sylvia Callier Melancon, of Baton Rouge, program manager 1A in the Office of Citizens with Developmental Disabilities in the Department of Health; Paul M. Noel, of New Orleans, deputy superintendent in the New Orleans Police Department; Chantilly Reddmann, of Baton Rouge, agriculture meat program coordinator in the Office of Animal Health and Food Safety in the Department of Agriculture and Forestry; Verdie Richburg, of Metairie, assistant director of the Jefferson Parish Library; and Milton Schleismann, of LaPlace, agricultural and environmental specialist manager in the Department of Agriculture and Forestry.
