Monique Thierry has been named executive director of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Southwest/South Central regional office. Thierry previously led government affairs in both Baton Rouge and Washington, D.C., for The Chamber-Southwest Louisiana’s five-parish region. Marie DesOrmeaux Centanni has replaced Thierry as vice president of public policy at The Chamber-Southwest Louisiana. She owns Centanni Communications, a legislative and media relations company.
Mona Ragan, who managed Finishing Touch, an embroidery and screen printing company in partnership with Red Stick Sports, has moved into a corporate sales position for Red Stick Sports & Finishing Touch.
The Metropolitan Council of East Baton Rouge Parish has named to the board of commissioners at Lane Regional Medical Center Frank Ragsdale, a retiree and former director of anesthesia at Lane, and Baker Mayor Harold Rideau. Ragsdale is replacing Robert Williams and Rideau is replacing James “Goose” Carroll on the board.
Joseph L. “Joe” Waitz Jr., district attorney for the 32nd Judicial District in Houma, has been elected president of the Louisiana District Attorneys Association. Other officers are John F. DeRosier, district attorney for the 14th Judicial District in Lake Charles, first vice president; and Barron C. Burmaster, executive assistant district attorney for the 24th Judicial District in Gretna, second vice president. Board members elected from the local area are Hillar C. Moore III, district attorney of the 19th Judicial District in Baton Rouge; Ricky Babin, district attorney for the 23rd Judicial District in Donaldsonville; Martin K. Maley Sr., assistant district attorney for the 18th Judicial District in Port Allen; and Thomas Beeson, district attorney investigator for the 32nd Judicial District in Houma.
