The Baton Rouge River Center and seven hotels are teaming up to market downtown Baton Rouge to meeting planners across the country.
Destination Downtown is a collaborative effort between the arena and officials with all of the hotels operating downtown as well as the Courtyard by Marriott Downtown and the Watermark, two properties under construction. The goal is to promote the downtown Baton Rouge experience, which includes a convention center within walking distance of more than 1,000 hotel rooms, restaurants and entertainment venues.
“We want to collaborate together to promote downtown and make it easy as possible for the companies that are considering having conventions in Baton Rouge,” said Michael Day, general manager of the River Center. “The message is that downtown Baton Rouge is an outstanding location for these types of events because we have a number of smaller but quality hotels within walking distance of the River Center, which would be the location for their events, and a number of other great attractions downtown.”
