Richards Honda has purchased 8.6 acres in The Greens at Millerville, a mixed-use development under construction off Millerville Road at Interstate 12.
Jarich LLC, a corporation set up by Kent Richards, Pamela Richards and Polly Richards Lemoine, paid $2.85 million for the site in a deal that was filed Friday with the East Baton Rouge Clerk of Court’s office. The seller was Appropriate Real Estate LLC, which is controlled by Windy Gladney, who is developing the Greens at Millerville.
Richards Honda announced in January 2015 it had an agreement to purchase property in the Greens at Millerville and eventually move the dealership there in a few years. Richards Honda has been at its current site at 7791 Florida Blvd. for more than 40 years and the dealership has outgrown the space.
The Greens at Millerville is being built on the site of the old Fairwood Country Club. Gladney’s plans call for 320 apartments and 393,000 square feet of retail and office space to be built on roughly 54 acres. Buc-ee’s, the popular Texas chain of convenience stores, is set to go into the development, along with the RV Shop and Golden Corral.
