During a flood recovery workshop on Aug. 18 at Zachary City Hall, officials received a detailed assessment from city planner Amy Schulze regarding the recovery efforts underway following the recent floods in Zachary and around the state.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Library and most of its branches are available to help flood victims with resource information and links online for a variety of recovery services and emergency assistance.

With so many residents still reeling from recent floods across the region, Southeastern Louisiana University has compiled an online repository of flood relief resources available at www.southeastern.edu/floodrelief.

The Louisiana Small Business Development Center at Southeastern Louisiana University will co-sponsor with the Greater Hammond Chamber of Commerce and Northshore SCORE a free seminar designed to help residents master QuickBooks for business.

The no-kill shelter, open from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays, has a large selection of cats and dogs ready for adoption. All animals have been spayed, neutered and vaccinated.

The emergency camps being operated at BREC facilities in Baton Rouge, Baker, Central and Zachary served 105 students on Friday and planned to continue to provide the service for children whose school's have closed and homes damaged due to flooding.
