A search of a Walker home found about $10,000 worth of illegal narcotics and resulted in the arrest of the homeowner on drug counts, the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office reported Wednesday.
Joe Mooney, 26, of 33701 Duff Road in Walker, is being held in Livingston Parish prison.
The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office said a joint investigation had determined that Mooney was selling illegal narcotics from his home. The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office and Louisiana Department of Probation and Parole assisted in the Tuesday search of the Walker home.
The sheriff’s office reported that 10 ounces of marijuana, 20 dosages of Adderall, two dosages of clonazepam, and small amounts of other drugs, all valued at $9,670, were found in the house. Investigators also found a loaded gun, drug paraphernalia and $22,216 in cash, which is believed to have been earned by Mooney through illegal drug transactions.
Mooney was booked with possession with intent to distribute a Schedule I and II controlled dangerous substances, illegal carrying of a weapon in the presence of illegal drugs, possession of a gun by a convicted felon, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a Schedule I and II controlled dangerous substances.
