A robbery near Hammond began when Jamarkus Keys, 25, knocked at the door of his victim’s home, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday.
The victim was in his home on Brumfield Lane on Jan. 28 when he heard a rapping at the door.
He answered, and Keys got inside “under false pretenses,” according to a news release.
Once inside, Keys, of Hammond, pulled out a handgun, struck the victim in the head and made off with about $200.
The Sheriff’s Office says Keys is still at large. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call Crime Stoppers at (800) 554-5245.
