HAMMOND — Authorities have arrested a couple sought on fraud charges in four states, the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office announced Wednesday.

A tip from Baton Rouge Crime Stoppers led to the arrest of the Hammond couple wanted in Colorado, Utah and Washington, as well as Louisiana, according to a news release.

The Attorney General’s Fugitive Apprehension Unit arrested Ernest Taylor, 26, and Tracie Mixon Miles, 30, both of 44156 W. Pleasant Ridge Road, Hammond, according to the release. Taylor and Miles were booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Prison as fugitives from the states where they are wanted on about two dozen counts, including forgery, identity theft, bank fraud, theft, and communications fraud, the release said.

Taylor and Miles are under investigation by the Baton Rouge Police Department, the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office, and the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office in addition to jurisdictions in the other states, according to the release.
