A minor shoplifting bust in Robert led Tangipahoa Parish deputies to a meth lab, the Sheriff’s Office announced Friday.

Richard Stewart Sr., 44, and Jamie Crayton, 30, on Tuesday bought and stole merchandise from a Dollar General, according to a news release.

Investigators realized the items are used to cook methamphetamine and discovered that the two “are habitual methamphetamine violators,” the release states.

Deputies searched their home to find a lab and arrested both on drug and shoplifting counts.

A third man, 31-year-old Tommy Blackwell, who allegedly drove Stewart and Crayton, is at large and wanted on counts of serving as an accessory to a crime, the release says.
