A suspected slasher was arrested Monday by deputies, according to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities were called to Benton Road in Tickfaw late Sunday where they found a victim with lacerations to his face and abdomen. Deputies believe an argument led to a fight with “numerous subjects,” according to a Sheriff’s Office news release.

After interviewing witnesses, deputies identified 43-year-old Robert Reid as a suspect, according to the release. He was arrested at his home on Old Gennesse Road in Hammond shortly after midnight Monday.

Deputies found guns and marijuana at Reid’s home, according to the release. He has been booked on counts of aggravated battery by cutting, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of a firearm while in possession of a controlled substance, possession of stolen property and simple battery.
