LIVINGSTON — A Denham Springs man was sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading no contest to 83 counts of pornography involving juveniles.
Lawerence J. Richard Jr., 46, was determined to be a member of a peer-to-peer network involved in the exchange and download of child pornography that the state Attorney General’s Office investigated in 2009, Rachael Domiano Beard, a spokeswoman for 21st Judicial District Attorney Scott Perrilloux, said in a news release.
Investigators discovered Richard’s involvement by obtaining his IP address and executing a search warrant at his Arnold Road home, where officers found 83 videos of child pornography on Richard’s computer, Beard said.
Judge Doug Hughes sentenced Richard on Monday to 10 years with the Department of Corrections. Assistant District Attorney Matthew Belser prosecuted the case.
