LKER — Both lanes of Interstate 12 eastbound at Juban Road reopened Wednesday afternoon after a wreck and spilled diesel fuel were cleared away, according to a text alert from the Walker Police Department.

An 18-wheeler hit a guardrail just before 2 p.m. Wednesday, spilling diesel onto the roadway, said Scott Jones, Denham Springs chief of Police

No injuries were reported, but the spill forced closure of both interstate lanes, he said.

One lane was reopened within two hours, Jones said.

The other remained closed while the guard rail was repaired, reopening after the job was completed, Jones said.
