Livingston deputies seized over $1,000 worth of drugs, hundreds of dollars in cash and drug paraphernalia, including hypodermic needles, in a Tuesday drug bust at a Denham Springs motel, the Sheriff’s Office reported Thursday.
Authorities searched at Village Inn Motel, 1210 Florida Ave. SE, where they found 20 grams of marijuana and two grams of heroin as well as tablets of morphine, methadone and alprazolam, according to a statement.
“All narcotics seized were packaged for sale and the money was broken down into denominations which are consistent with the distribution of illegal narcotics,” Sheriff Jason Ard said in the release.
Detectives also found scales, packaging material and needles, Ard said.
The Sheriff’s Office estimates the drugs cost about $1,090, and deputies seized $851 in cash, the release states.
Curtis Warren, 36, of Franklinton, and Austin Shane Grayer, 24, of Walker, were arrested on two counts each of manufacture, cultivation, distribution or possession with intent to distribute a Schedule I drug and one count each of resisting an officer.
Warren faces two additional counts of possession of a Schedule II drug and one count of possession of a Schedule IV drug, according to Livingston jail records.
