Two Baton Rouge men were arrested and a stolen vehicle was recovered after Livingston Parish sheriff’s deputies responded to a home invasion early Saturday.
Cody Terry, 34, drove to a home in the 10000 block of La. 1033 after a “domestic-related argument” and kicked the door open to break into the house, said Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard.
Conley White, 23, and a juvenile were waiting in the vehicle during the incident. When Terry learned deputies were on their way, he fled the scene with White and the juvenile in a gold-colored Saturn, Ard said.
Deputies quickly located the vehicle and attempted to pull it over on Hammack Road in Denham Springs, but Terry initially refused to stop, Ard said. He finally conceded and stopped the vehicle at the intersection of Hammack and Achord roads.
The Saturn was reported stolen out of Baton Rouge, Ard said, and the registered owner has been contacted.
White admitted to having the vehicle in his custody. He told deputies he allowed Terry to drive the vehicle, Ard said.
Terry, of 17744 N. Achord Road, and White, of 5576 Truman St., were taken to the Livingston Parish Detention Center.
Terry was booked on counts of home invasion, flight from officers, child desertion and criminal damage to property. White was booked on a count of illegal possession of stolen things.
