KENTWOOD — Deputies arrested and booked a Kentwood man with second-degree murder after he allegedly shot another man in a child-custody dispute, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office reported Tuesday.

Bobby Dunaway, 63, was accused of the fatal shooting of Carlton Wells, 33, of Amite, Sunday after Wells showed up at a house in Kentwood looking for a minor child, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release.

After an argument, Wells entered the home, where Dunaway shot him in the chest, the release says.

Wells was pronounced dead at the scene, the release says.
