A Denham Springs man was arrested on 500 counts of child pornography possession after local, state and federal agencies searched his home last week and found hundreds of images on a computer.

Brian Lee Schaller, 42, of Linder Road, was arrested Dec. 10 and also faces 40 counts of distributing pornography involving juveniles, possession of a Schedule I drug, possession of drug paraphernalia, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and illegal use of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a person under the age of 17, said Laura Gerdes Colligan, spokeswoman for the state attorney general.

Schaller is being held at the Livingston Parish Detention Center, with his bond set at $51 million, according to Sheriff’s Office records available online.

The AG’s cyber crimes unit, as well as the FBI, federal Homeland Security investigators and Livingston Parish deputies all collaborated in the arrest.

The law enforcement agencies on Dec. 10 executed a search warrant at Schaller’s home, where they discovered hundreds of pornographic images involving juveniles and arrested him, Colligan said.

She was unable to comment on specifics of the case, such as how the investigation began and whether any other people were arrested.
