Last week’s heavy rains are still causing problems with garbage collection in Livingston Parish.
Waste Management expects delays in commercial and residential service to last through next week in areas where streets washed out.
Southern regions of the parish will be most affected, including customers near Springfield and Maurepas.
Livingston Parish experienced the heaviest rains in the state a week ago, with more than 11 inches of rain falling in some parts of the parish during a three-day span. The rain was caused by a weak low pressure in the Gulf of Mexico, a cold front and the remnants of Hurricane Patricia, which slammed the coast of western Mexico.
