Two Tangipahoa Parish men died in a one-car crash Sunday near Arcola, State Police said.
Reginald D. Williams Jr., of Fluker, and Quentin D. Pitts, of Hammond, both 30, were driving east on La. 10 in Williams’ Dodge Challenger just after 9:30 p.m., when the car entered a left curve, veered right off the roadway, struck a culvert and overturned, Trooper Dustin Dwight said Monday in a news release.
The car hit a fence post and tree and was soon engulfed in flames, Dwight said.
The Tangipahoa Parish Coroner’s Office pronounced both men dead at the scene.
Troopers believe speed contributed to the crash, Dwight said.
Blood samples will be sent to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis.
