The two people involved in what authorities believe was a murder-suicide Wednesday in Holden have been identified as Michael E. and Nancy Richardson, according to a press release from the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities believe Michael Richardson, 65, shot his wife, 67, and then turned the gun on himself, said Jason Ard, chief criminal deputy for the Sheriff’s Office.

Detectives are awaiting the result of autopsies and toxicology reports, Ard said.

The investigation is ongoing, he said.
