One lane had reopened on La. 441, near Holden, by early Wednesday afternoon and work to clear an overturned 18-wheeler should be completed “pretty soon,” Trooper Jared Sandifer said around 1:30 p.m.
The 18-wheeler, carrying wood chips, ran off the road south of U.S. 190 before 5:15 a.m. Wednesday and overturned.
La. 441 is the Holden exit from I-12.
It took several hours to clear the site, in part, because it was difficult to get the necessary equipment in there, Sandifer said.
Only one vehicle was involved and injuries were minor, he said.
