PONCHATOULA — A 16-year-old boy drowned in a pond Monday, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office reported.

The youth was one of six teenagers swimming together Monday morning, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Office.

Neither the victim’s name nor details of his death were available. The investigation was continuing late Monday, but foul play is not suspected, said Dawn Panepinto, spokeswoman for the Sheriff’s Office.

The boy’s body has been recovered, she said.
