Two men were arrested on counts of negligent homicide after the body of a missing man was found Wednesday afternoon, according to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Seth Landry, 29, of Ponchatoula, was last seen by family on Sept. 18, the Sheriff’s Office said. It was believed he may have been headed to Abita Springs or Florida.

However, his body was discovered Wednesday off La. 16 just south of the Livingston and St. Helena parish line. He had apparently overdosed, the Sheriff’s Office said in a Friday news release.

Joshua Paul Orso, 27, of Ponchatoula, and Bryan Jason Barnes, 44, no address given, each face one count of negligent homicide in Landry’s death, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

No further information was provided Friday afternoon. Sheriff’s spokeswoman Dawn Panepinto said investigators were working to relate details to Landry’s family before releasing the specifics publicly.
