A woman was killed after being thrown from and pinned under an overturned SUV in a Sunday evening incident.
About 8:50 p.m., state troopers were called to La. 445 just north of U.S. 190 in Robert. They found 40-year-old Bridget Rodriguez, of Mandeville, who was pronounced dead at the scene by the Tangipahoa Parish Coroner’s Office, State Police wrote in a news release.
Investigators believe Rodriguez was driving north when she veered to the right, lost control and ran off the road into a tree. Rodriguez, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected and trapped under the Sequoia as it overturned, the release states.
Troopers are not sure what caused the wreck but do not suspect intoxication.
