GREENSBURG —A man clearing brush for the town of Greensburg had to be airlifted to a hospital after falling off and being run over by his mower.
The worker was driving a Bush Hog along La. 10 near Under the Hill Road about 10:30 a.m. Thursday when he fell off the vehicle while making a turn, St. Helena Fire Department medic Charles Graves said.
He went under a tractor wheel but appeared to escape being touched by any blades, the medic said. The unidentified worker was spitting up blood when first responders found him, though Graves believes his injuries were exacerbated by a pre-existing condition and are nonlife-threatening.
He was medevaced to Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center for treatment.
