A suspected armed robber and his getaway driver have been arrested in a drugstore heist near Watson, according to the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies believe 32-year-old Preston H. Davis, of Denham Springs, stormed a pharmacy on La. 16 on Jan. 5 wearing a camouflage mask and carrying a handgun. He made off with “a large quantity” of prescription drugs before running off and getting into a car driven by his girlfriend, 28-year-old Amber Frith, of Denham Springs, according to Sheriff’s Office news releases.

A tip led investigators to Davis, who was arrested following a traffic stop Friday. When detectives searched his vehicle and home, they found clothes worn during the robbery, the gun that had been used and medication taken during the crime, a Monday release states.

Davis faces one count each of armed robbery with a firearm and felon in possession of a firearm. He is being held in the parish detention center on $150,000 bond.

Frith was arrested on one count of principal to armed robbery with a firearm. She is being held in the parish detention center on $100,000 bond.
