A man who told paramedics in Walker he was shot in the head following a fight over a woman Thursday morning was actually suffering from a blow to the head, a Walker Police officer said.
“Apparently he was hit in the head with a gun, not shot,” Walker Police Capt. John Sharp said Thursday afternoon.
Walker police are continuing to investigate what was first reported as a morning shooting at a home in Walker after the victim left the home, drove off, staggered in a gas station on La. 447 around 5:30 a.m. and collapsed, Sharp said
The victim, who has not been identified by police, was released from a local hospital around 10 a.m. with 10 stitches, Sharp said.
The victim, with one female passenger, drove from the location of the shooting to the Murphy Express gas station where he collapsed, Sharp said.
