Gerard Landry won the race for Denham Springs mayor, with 51.6 percent of the vote, according to complete but unofficial returns from the Secretary of State’s Office.
Landry took 1,779 votes, while John Wascom received 1,668, or 48.4 percent of the vote.
Four of the 12 contenders for council have won election to the at-large board, without need for a runoff: Jeff Wesley, with 1,857 votes; incumbent Lori Lamm-Williams, with 1,683 votes; Robert Poole, with 1,610 votes; and Rene Delahoussaye, with 1,407 votes.
Incumbent Chris Davis, who garnered 1,365 votes, and Julie Dyason-Norris, with 1,253 votes, will square off in a Dec. 6 runoff for the lone remaining seat.
Incumbent Jerry Denton handily won re-election in the face of opposition from challenger Willie Brooks, with 80.9 percent of the vote compared to Brooks’ 19.1 percent.
