A 28-year-old who suggested being “friends with benefits” with a 13-year-old girl has been sentenced to prison time, prosecutors announced Tuesday.

In 2013, investigators learned the victim had been sent “obscene photos” of a man who suggested the two video chat and become friends with benefits, according to a news release. Using information from Yahoo and Skype, they tracked the online accounts to locations in Tangipahoa Parish and found William Knight, of Hammond.

Knight told investigators he used a variety of chat applications to connect with girls about 14 years old and ask them to send him nude photos, the release states.

Knight originally was arrested on a solicitation count, and as authorities searched his computer hard drive, they found pornographic pictures and videos depicting underage girls, some younger than 13. In all, Knight was charged with 14 counts of possession of child pornography and one count of computer-aided solicitation of a minor, the release states. Knight pleaded no contest was sentenced to 12 years of jail time.
