The Tangipahoa Sheriff’s Office has identified a suspect in a shooting Monday that sent two men to the hospital.

Deputies are asking the public for help finding 22-year-old Louis L. Perry Jr., of Hammond, who is wanted on two counts of attempted second-degree murder.

Around 3 p.m. Monday, Perry fired multiple shots into a crowd that had gathered outside an apartment complex on Quick Road in Hammond, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release. Davon Moore, 30, was shot in the abdomen.

Investigators believe Perry then walked to a nearby apartment and fired through the front door several more times. Willie Dykes, 33, was shot in the right shoulder and right leg as he tried to usher children to the back of the building, the release states.

Both men have since been listed in stable condition.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 554-5245.
