Three children reported abducted from Arkansas were found safe in Ponchatoula on Monday with their fugitive mother following a search of the area, the Tangipahoa Sheriff’s Office said.

Law enforcement officers from several agencies, following a lead that 26-year-old Morgan Lee Boone might be staying at a home in the Ponchatoula area, set up surveillance of the home Monday, Sheriff Daniel Edwards said in a release.

Boone’s three children, between 2 and 8 years old, were the subject of an AMBER alert Monday afternoon, Edwards said.

Detectives spotted Boone’s silver Altima at a residence on John Wilder Road, Edwards said, and tailed her to a home on Judith Lane Road where she was arrested without incident.

Following the arrest, detectives located the children at another home in Ponchatoula, Edwards said, where they were found in good health.

Deputies arrested Moore for being a fugitive, Edwards said, and arrested three Ponchatoula men on outstanding warrants for failure to appear during the operation: Daryl Moore, 37, Jacob F. Carter, 20, and Marvin Carter III, whose age was not listed.
