TICKFAW — Four Tangipahoa Parish jail inmates and the driver of a Sheriff’s Office truck were injured Tuesday afternoon when an 18-wheeler ran into the rear of the stopped sheriff’s vehicle and pushed it into a car halted on U.S. 51 in Tickfaw, State Police reported.
None of the injuries were life- threatening, according to State Police.
The driver of the 18-wheeler wasn’t injured, but was cited for careless operation, said Trooper Nick Manale, a State Police spokesman.
Two women in the car struck by the sheriff’s vehicle were not injured, he said.
The names of the people involved were not immediately available, Manale said.
