ENHAM SPRINGS - Deputies arrested a Livingston Parish councilman’s son accused of producing methamphetamine, the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office confirmed Wednesday.

Deputies booked Jimmie McCoy Jr., 38, and Tarin McCoy, 29, both of 10250 Simms Road, Tuesday on counts of operating an illegal meth lab, Chief of Operations Perry Rushing said.

The couple remained in the Livingston Parish Detention Center on Wednesday in lieu of $200,000 bail each, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The McCoys were arrested after investigators checked into pharmacy records for purchases of drugs that can be used in making methamphetamine, said Chief Criminal Deputy Jason Ard.
