A Natalbany man escaped capture after leading deputies on a high-speed chase that ended in a crash, according to the Tangipahoa Sheriff’s Office.

Now authorities are asking the public for help bringing him in.

On Saturday, deputies pulled over a blue Chevy Caprice on New Gennessee Road for a traffic violation, the Sheriff’s Office wrote in a news release.

The car sped off, spurring a chase that topped 80 mph. The Caprice wrecked on a turn on Spookhill Road, crashing into a ditch, but the driver escaped south on foot.

Deputies had previously identified the man as 25-year-old Julian Alexander and found his wallet with ID in the car, along with suspected marijuana.

Multiple warrants have been issued for his arrest. Anyone with information on his location is urged to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 554-5245.
