Officials are looking for information about a hit-and-run accident on Mauroner Drive in Hammond, according to a Hammond Police press release.
On Thursday, April 2, at approximately 8:30 p.m., the Hammond Police received a call on Mauroner Drive in reference to a vehicle running into a home causing severe damage to the front of the residence.
Witnesses stated that an unknown black vehicle, possibly a Chevrolet or GMC truck, left the roadway, striking the front of the residence and fleeing the scene of the crash headed southbound on Pecan Street.
The vehicle struck the residence into the front living room causing front end damage. No one was in the room at the time of the crash, according to the release.
Anyone having knowledge of this crash or has knowledge of a vehicle of similar description with front end damage, can call the Hammond Police Investigative division or they can call crime stoppers of Tangipahoa anonymously at 1-800-554-5245.
In addition, the resident owner will also give an additional $500 reward for the identification and whereabouts of the owner and location of this vehicle.
