GONZALES – Emergency workers continued early Thursday to clean up a significant amount of hydrochloric acid that spilled from a ruptured rail tank car in Ascension Parish’s industrial corridor late Wednesday.

Ascension sheriff’s deputies said it could take several hours to finish and suggested at least part of Ashland Road could be closed when commuters head to the plants early Thursday morning for work.
