For the third consecutive year, the St. Amant High School football team partnered with the St. Amant Volunteer Fire Department to feed families in Ascension Parish.

The Gator football team collected more than 1,900 pounds of nonperishable food items for needy families in Ascension Parish, Booster Club President James E. LeBlanc said.

All of the food collected by the Gator football team was delivered last week by the St. Amant Fire Department to local Ascension Parish churches.

The team also fed 10 St. Amant needy families during the Christmas holidays, LeBlanc said.
