Tiffany Shelton has been named director of radiation therapy for Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center in Gonzales.
Shelton has been a radiation therapist at Mary Bird Perkins – Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Center in Baton Rouge for 10 years, a news release said.
“Tiffany brings with her a wealth of experience, dedication and leadership abilities,” said Vickie Hall, the Cancer Center’s vice president of patient care operations. “I am confident under her management and expertise, the Gonzales Center will continue flourishing and providing only the highest level of cancer care to patients.”
Shelton received an associate degree in radiologic technology from Our Lady of the Lake College in Baton Rouge, followed by an additional year of training in radiation therapy at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas.
A native of Baton Rouge, Shelton and her husband Scott, an electrician, have a 3-year-old son.
Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center is a regional cancer care organization that has been fighting cancer for more than 40 years, the release said. With five centers in Baton Rouge, Covington, Hammond, Houma and Gonzales, its service area includes 18 parishes across southeast Louisiana.
