St. George Catholic School’s annual fall open house is planned from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Oct. 30.

Join members of the school community for guided tours of the campus and classrooms, observe teachers and students in classroom settings and meet the administrative team.

Tours will begin in the school gym, 7880 St. George Drive.

Walk in the woods

BREC’s Conservation Department will host a series of Woods Walks throughout the fall at various BREC conservation areas.

The October woods walk from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Oct. 18 at the Frenchtown Conservation Area, themed “Migration Matters,” will focus on the wonders of fall migration, a BREC news release said.

The November woods walk from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Nov. 8 at the Blackwater Conservation Area, themed “Autumn Adaptations,” plans to highlight why leaves change colors, what autumn rut is, and how the forest and wetland changes with the seasons.

The December woods walk from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Dec. 13. at the Frenchtown Conservation Area is set to explore the history of Frenchtown Road Conservation and “The Land Between the Rivers.”

All hikes are for ages 6 and older.

Hikes are free to the public and weather-dependent.
