The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office Motors Division placed in two categories at the 17th annual Gulf Coast Police Motorcycle Skills competition, held Nov. 3-7 at the Lamar-Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales.

The division placed fourth in the overall team category and fifth in the team slow ride.

The competition, hosted by 10 area agencies, welcomed 28 law enforcement agencies from across the world and 158 riders, a news release said.

All proceeds from the event are donated to supporting the Dream Day Foundation and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Hosting agencies include the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office, Baton Rouge Police Department, Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office, West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office, LSU Police Department, State Police, Gonzales Police Department, Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office, Denham Springs Police Department and East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office.
